Carol Leff is a poet, author, and artist whose creative journey unfolds in Kleinemonde, where she shares her home with her writer husband and their beloved four-legged companions. Her artistic endeavors span a variety of mediums, from handcrafted bookmarks and greeting cards to small-scale artworks and sun-printed fabrics.
Recently captivated by cyanotype printing, Carol launched CyanoTides: Sunprints out of the Blue, a project born from her desire to celebrate and honor the natural world. Her cyanotypes emerge from an intricate process that blends found objects—plants, seaweed, shells, shark egg cases, porcupine quills, feathers, and more—with photographic negatives, including vintage images sourced from archives. Essential to this creative method are two abundant elements of the Sunshine Coast: sunlight and water, which breathe life into her evocative prints.
