Gillian (Gill) Bowman’s artistic journey is as rich and diverse as her life experiences. After retiring as a priest in the Anglican Church, she embraced painting as her full-time passion. Residing in Gqeberha with her spouse, Roy, Gill draws daily inspiration from the breathtaking views of the Baakens River Valley Nature Reserve, a landscape that nurtures her creativity.
Her artistic growth has been guided by respected mentors such as Tom Moore from the Learn to Paint Academy, the ETCHR Studio, the Milan Institute, and Prof. Estelle Marais. Influenced by motivational courses from Jessica Serran, she continues to refine her craft. Primarily working with acrylics, Gill also experiments with watercolours and creates intricate, meditative Mandalas.
Gill’s work was featured in a September exhibition supporting Rhino Conservation at the prestigious GFI Gallery in Port Elizabeth. As an emerging artist, she welcomes new opportunities to showcase and share her art with a wider audience.
